Agenda + provides student training experiences via interactive tutorials and workshops. My role as lead graphic designer was to create and implement a new brand identity and overhaul the educational materials that had become stale, and felt too corporate. It was imperative that the new identity felt fun and appealed to a an audience of young students. I renamed the new brand to Agenda +, developed an 8bit video game concept, created and developed characters, created merchandise, created e-flyers, created certificates of completion and completely overhauled the previous presentation slide decks to a new exciting and engaging education experience. The retro video game theme was intentionally chosen to appeal to the target audience. (I mean, who doesn't love retro sprite art and graphics!?) There was also the opportunity to play with well known gaming language and phrases. So, in order to encourage user participation - I developed phrases like 'Press Start on Your Career' 'Say Game Over To Boring Meetings' and 'Level Up'. I designed 'Oscar' the dog who quickly became the brand mascot. I also created other whimsical characters, including a vegan cheeseburger to reflect the brands' eco consciousness. A humorous tone of voice is used throughout to maintain user attention and encourage participation.
